Tradiciones de Pascua en Estados Unidos. Easter Traditions in the United States

Enseñad a vuestros hijos/as como se celebra la Pascua en otros países. Nuestra auxiliar de conversación , Marisa, quiere compartir con vosotros como ella y su familia celebran esta fiesta en el estado de Michigan, Estados Unidos. Podéis incluso realizar algunas de las actividades en familia.

Teach your children about how Easter is celebrated in another country! Our foreign language assistant, Marisa, shares how her family celebrates this holiday in the state of Michigan, USA. You can even do some of these activities at home with your children!

1.  !Jugad en familia a la Búsqueda de Huevos de Pascua! 
Have an Easter Egg Hunt!

Un juego muy típico que se juega en la Pascua es el de la búsqueda de los huevos de pascua. Coloread de forma divertida huevos cocidos, los mayores de la casa los esconden en lugares distintos de la casa y después los niños y niñas deben ir buscando, el que más huevo recoja tendrá un premio.

A common game played at Easter is for parents/ the "Easter Bunny" to hide colored plastic eggs all over the home and outdoors in the yard. Each egg has something inside it, like a small piece of candy or some coins. The children race around to see who can find the most eggs. Whoever does is the winner!

2. El "Conejo de Pascua" esconde cestas de Pascua durante la noche.
 The "Easter Bunny" Hides Easter Baskets at Nighttime

Los niños en Estados Unidos durante la Pascua reciben la llegada del "Conejo de Pascua", que llega a sus casas durante la noche y dejan ocultos unos cestos llenos de regalitos (es algo parecido a lo que hacemos nosotros el día de Navidad o el día de Reyes). Por la mañana los peques tiene que buscar por toda la casa hasta encontrar su cestita.

The children in the USA are taught that a big magical Easter Bunny comes to their home in the nighttime and hides a basket full of toys and candy, for each child (similar to Santa Claus at Christmas)! In the morning, the children have to look all over the house to find their basket.

   

El "Conejo de Pascua" fue un poco tonto y escondió este cesto ¡dentro de la lavadora!

The Easter Bunny was silly and hid this basket in the washing machine!

3. Pintura /Decoración de huevos de Pascua
Dye / Decorate Easter Eggs

Otra actividad muy divertida para hacer en familia y que solemos hacer en Estados Unidos es la pintura y decoración de huevos de Pascua. Primero necesitáis cocer huevos, una vez los tengáis fríos podéis dibujar lo que queráis sobre ellos, hacedlo con una cera blanca si tenéis en casa, y después podéis pintarlos con pinturas de colores, podéis hacer los colores con colorante alimentario, así después si queréis os los podéis comer también. Los dibujos que hagáis con ceras por debajo de la pintura se verán una vez que estén secos.

Another fun activity for children that is traditional in the USA is dyeing Easter eggs. You need to first hard-boil the eggs! Then you can draw on them with a white crayon before dyeing so the designs only show once you've dyed them. If you use food coloring, the eggs are still safe to eat afterwards.

4. Comida típica de Pascua
Traditional Easter Meal

Como es tradición en Estados Unidos se va a la iglesia, por la mañana o por la tarde, el domingo de Pascua. Después toda la familia se reúne para comer juntos. Normalmente en Pascua comemos jamón.
Traditionally, we go to Easter Church in the morning or afternoon on Easter Sunday. Then the whole family gathers for a meal together. Usually, in the USA we eat ham on Easter.

HALLOWEEN 2019

Hola a todos/as,

Ya estamos de vuelta un curso más, os damos la bienvenida con unas imágenes de la celebración conjunta del día de las Bibliotecas escolares y Halloween.
Durante las dos últimas semanas de octubre, el alumnado de Primaria realizó varias actividades: por un lado se inauguró la biblioteca e hicieron un taller donde se explicaba el uso de la biblioteca y el manejo de los libros. Por otro lado, se celebró Halloween con ayuda de la auxiliar de este curso, Marisa Torola. El alumnado pasó por biblioteca para sumergirse en el terrorífico mundo de Halloween, con ayuda de la auxiliar repasaron vocabulario, conocieron el origen de Halloween y también bailaron y cantaron.
Para terminar, con ayuda de unos dados que daban las pautas para la creación de un cuento de terror, todo el alumnado de Primaria participó en un concurso de cuentos.
Los ganadores se darán a conocer en breve ...


Hi everybody,

We are back one more school year, we welcome everybody with some pictures taken on the celebration of School Libraries' Day and Halloween.

During the last two weeks of October, Primary pupils did several activities: on the one hand we inaugurate our library and pupils did a workshop where they learnt how to use the library and the books. On the other hand, we celebrated Halloween with the help of our assistant Marisa Torola. All pupils went to the library to dive within the terrorific world of Halloween, with Marisa's help they learnt vocabulary, they knew about the origin of Halloween and they also sang and danced with terrorific music.

To finish with, all pupils were invited to create a terrorific story and participate in a competition.
The winners will be known very soon ...
